Pride Park Juniors face Borrowash Victoria in the Derby City League u16 Challenge Cup Final, this Saturday at Belper Town's Christchurch Meadow Stadium. Kick off is at 13.00 and all support will be welcome!

Under 11 Girls Win First Game

Our newly formed Under 11 Girls played their first ever game today, and secured a win in their opening Derbyshire Girls and Ladies League fixture, beating Hilton 2-1.

Laura opened the scoring with a rasping shot from well outside the area. Hilton equalised and the score remained level for a long period after that, but the winning goal from Emma secured the points and a first win for the girls. Well done!

Charity Match Raises £3,000 for Hospital Charity

A Charity Football Match between between fathers and families of Pride Park Juniors' players and John Flamsteed Community School's teachers and friends held in July raised £3,000 for Ward E38 at Nottingham Queens Medical Centre.

The charity was chosen after Pride Park's under 17 Girls' goalkeeper, Victoria Wilsoncroft, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphom and was looked after by staff at the children's E38 oncology ward at QMC. Vicky has now recovered and returned in between the posts for her team in November.

Pride Park Juniors Net Big Prize

Local children in Derby will be putting on their boots following a £5,000 Grow the Game grant, from the Football Foundation, the country’s largest sports charity.

The grant will allow Pride Park Juniors Football Club to kick-start a new three year growth and development programme with the introduction of a weekly Soccer School for 5-9 year olds, the introduction next season of two new boys’ and girls’ teams from Under-7/8 level, and will assist in feeding players up to the higher age groups as they progress through the club. The award will also help towards the training of volunteers who want to develop their coaching expertise.

Marking the launch of the programme is the Summer Soccer School which starts on 7th July at Alvaston Park (09.30 - 10.30) providing 5-9 year old boys and girls an introduction to football through professional coaching in association with Cosmo Soccer Academy http://cosmosoccer.co.uk/
